Macao has begun inoculating against the A/H1N1 flu. The vaccines, which were manufactured in Switzerland, were flown on Saturday.
The first batch of the vaccine comprises 100 thousand doses. Inoculations are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Local medical staff, children, the elderly and patients with chronic illness will be the first to be inoculated. Others will be inoculated once more vaccines are delivered in January. 700,000 units of the vaccine are scheduled to be delivered, at a cost of 17 US dollars a dose.
