President's Asian tour, attendance at APEC meeting a complete success: FM

Chinese President Hu Jintao returned to Beijing Sunday, after state visits to Malaysia and Singapore, and after attending the 17th Economic Leaders Meeting of the APEC forum. Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, says President Hu Jintao achieved great success.

Yang, who was accompanying the Chinese president during the tour, says throughout the president's Asian visits, a warm and friendly atmosphere welcomed them.

The visits were made against the backdrop of a steady global economy that is improving and a changing regional situation. Yang, says that Hu's visits, will undoubtedly generate great influences on the full-scale promotion of China's relations, with neighboring countries as well as with ASEAN.

They will also promote cooperation in meeting global challenges. These include tackling the financial crisis and climate change, supporting a multilateral trading system, speeding up the process of regional economic integration.... and promoting the long-term development of APEC.
