Special Report: US President Barack Obama Visits China |

Visiting members of the US air force say more military exchanges between China and the US are expected after US President Barack Obama's first visit to China next Monday. The US air force delegation is in Beijing for the 60th anniversary of the Chinese Air Force.

On his first visit to China, US Lieutenant General Herbert Carlisle is confident President Obama's visit will play a positive role in military ties.

Lieutenant Gen. Herbert Carlisle of US Air Force said, "I think it's going to get better ... I hope that our military contact will get more from the senior level down to the junior level and to the young pilots. So I hope it continue to get better and I am greatly forward to that."

Question: Any plans for the future?

"There are couple of dialogues that Secretary Gates has agreed to come to visit China early next year, he will be here as the new commander of the Pacific USA. Admiral Miller is going to be here sometime next year, as well as a couple of officers. So, there are some dialogues that going to occur, and we are going to get some more training, we will do some humanitarian relief and military medical training together."
