Chinese President Hu Jintao has reassured visiting Air Force delegations that China's military intentions are peaceful, as the country commemorates the 60th anniversary of its Air Force.

Hu made the remarks while meeting the heads of foreign Air Force delegations from more than 30 countries in Beijing. He also noted that China will unswervingly follow the path of peaceful development and develop friendly cooperation with all countries on the basis of the five principles of peaceful co-existence, and facilitate the creation of a harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity.

The delegations will attend the international military forum, which aims to promote exchanges and build mutual trust, as well as discuss means of maintaining air space security.

Hu Jintao said, "We will never conduct military expansion and competition. We will not impose any military threat to any country."
