China, Australia enhance mutual trust

Chinese Vice Premier, Li Keqiang, has met with his Australian counterpart, Julia Gillard, in Sydney. China says it hopes to intensify dialogue and contact with Australia, to enhance mutual trust between the two countries.

Regarding the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement, the Vice Premier notes negotiations on the deal has seen development. The progress has created conditions for companies of both countries to cooperate on the basis of mutual benefit. There are currently 130-thousand Chinese students studying in Australia. Li Keqiang expressed hope that both sides can boost their efforts to provide a safe and convenient environment for the Chinese students, safeguarding their rights.

The Chinese vice premier also says that China will provide a pair of giant pandas to Australia within the year for research. Gillard says Australia is willing to deepen relations of mutual benefit and cooperation with China. She also stressed that the Australian government respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China.
