China's top legislator meets US house speaker

China's top legislator Wu Bangguo, has met with the Speaker of the House of US Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral ties and on international issues of common concern.

Speaking to reporters before the talks, Wu Bangguo expressed his belief that his visit will inject new impetus to the growth of China-U.S. relations. Pelosi said Wu's visit gives both sides an opportunity to discuss climate change and other issues including the global economic crisis.
