Carnival at Singapore Turf Club and follow-up celebration on cable car

Welcome to the Horse racing world, enjoy the few minutes free of all troubles in life such as bird flu, religious conflicts, increasing pollution, decreasing resources, anorexia, famine, myth of love, seven-year itch, mid-life crisis, writer鈥檚 block, every possible phobia and @#$%^&*

But just for that precious couple minutes when your horse and all others are still galloping toward the finishing line鈥

Then, only the lucky few would celebrate wining and dining while you still have to struggle to keep the day job.

Btw, the gentleman celebrating with our engineer is the most courteous and helpful local guide in Singapore Mr. Howard Lin. And please, don鈥檛 think his job is that cushy - he worked his tail off all day everyday to make sure everything worked smoothly during our shooting there. Cheers! Howard!

Cold drinks in Singapore 鈥a must! And taste real gooooooooood!!! The fishbowl is a trademark dessert of the restaurant where I had the best Hainan Chicken Rice. Mango custard on the top; the cloudy midlevel - dry ice for a cool unearthly effect, yum yum; and the emerald-looking bottom, clueless. The food in the bowl next to lemon ice water is Laksa, a Malay family style food. Repeat after me: L a - sa, three times, and ask for it at the small eatery in Malay district. It鈥檚 almost the best local snack voted by me and many others. The curry, coconut milk and fish paste sauce will make a queen think about licking her bowl.
