Defending champion Andy Murray has been knocked out of the Sony Ericsson Open by unseeded American Mardy Fish at Miami. Murray was easily beaten in straight sets in the second round on Saturday.

Murray, the world number three was the clear favourite to take the match, but he struggled from the start. With the home support behind him, Fish surged ahead to take the first set by six games to four.

Fish was equally as dominant in the second set, taking it by the same scoreline for a big win against his higher ranked opponent.
