Hawks edge Magic, qualify for playoffs

The Atlanta Hawks trying to earn their third straight post-season appearance. But first, the Hawks had to beat the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

Early in the second quarter, Magic up by three. The Hawks' Maurice Evans' shoots from the corner for 3...and he ties the score at 26-all.

Later in the first half, Atlanta's Mike Bibby drills another three and the Hawks grabbed their first lead of the game. Atlanta moved in front 43-40.

Midway thru the third quarter, Orlando was down by 11. Jameer Nelson to Dwight Howard for the alley-oop dunk. Superman scored 19 points and picked up a season-high 24 rebounds.

With 17 seconds to go, Vince Cater drove the lane for the strong finish. Carter made it a one-point game for the Magic.

With 9.9 seconds remaining, Carter again, this time he hit from long range. His 3-pointer tied it at 84.
