Chinese curling team back on course by beating Switzerland, Japan

Over in the Women's Curling World Championships, China collected two consecutive victories after beating Switzerland and Japan. It means China are back on course in the sport having suffered 4 losses in their previous five games.

Skipper Wang Bingyu finally shook off her wayward form and threw her team into an early lead. In the 5th end, Wang's last shot ended with a takeout, which helped China earn two points.

The Swiss though battled back, leveling the game at 5-all after 9 ends. In the deciding end, the Swiss skipper failed to evade a protection stone as China went on to take one point, and win the game 6-5.

Two hours later, China met the Japanese team. It turned out to be an easy game for the Vancouver Olympic bronze winners. Wang bowled this spectacular shot in the second end to give China a 2-0 lead. Japan would fight back to take turnaround lead. 4-3. But in the 5th end, Japan failed several takeouts, as China stole three points to regain their lead. From then on in, Wang's team never looked back collecting three points in the 9th, and closing out for an 11-6 victory for their second win in a row, China improve to 3 wins and 4 losses, retaining chances for the semifinals.
