Li Na makes it to the next round

Chinese players also advanced with strong performances today. Fifteenth seed Li Na faced New Zealand's Marina Erakovic. Eravovic got off to a terrible start and Li Na had a 4-0 lead.

But the New Zealander stepped up and broke Li Na's serve at love. The 27-year-old Chinese held serve in the next game and then broke for a third time to take the first set 6-2 in 28 minutes.

The second set turned into a mismatch, with Erakovic unable to hold serve at all. Li Na won the match 6-2,6-0 in just 51 minutes.
