Tiger Woods reacted to a string of allegations about his private life by releasing a statement on his website on Wednesday in which he admitted to transgressions.

It's been a roller coaster week for Woods. The golfer refused to speak to state troopers over his car accident and was charged with careless driving. That earned him a 164 US dollar fine and four points off his driving license.

Things took another twist on Wednesday. A cover story in US Weekly magazine reported that Los Angeles cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs had a 31-month affair with the multi-major winner. The world's number one golfer released a statement on his website in which he said "I have not been true to my values and the behaviour my family deserves". Woods said he regretted his actions, but did not offer details of any alleged relationship.
