PLA whitewash Liaoning 109-79 in men's basketball

The PLA faced Liaoning in a rematch, with the P-L-A looking to redeem itself after suffering a 94-86 upset in the group stage. Former NBA player Wang Zhizhi showed his scoring touch from the very beginning and the first quarter ended with the P-L-A leading by 13 points.

Liaoning tried to fight back in the second quarter. Veteran Bian Qiang scored off his teammates miss.  But the P-L-A didn't give up many offensive rebounds during the rest of the game.  Wang Zhizhi answered with  two of his 36 total points. The second quarter ended with a 53-41 P-L-A advantage.

The P-L-A continued its momentum and Wang did more than just score.  He dealt out an assist to Chen Ke. Chen's basket kept the P-L-A in front, 75-61.

Liaoning's Zhang Qingpeng put in 27 points, but his side couldn't catch up.  Other national team players like Li Nan helped the P-L-A close out the game in style, winning it 109-79.
