Shanghai defeats Tianjin to advance to next round

Shanghai took on Tianjin in the men's basketball preliminaries.

Zhang Ji put Tianjin ahead just two minutes into the match with a two pointer.

Shanghai got off to a bad start and Tianjin led 26-18 during the first quarter.

Shanghai came back in the second. National team star Liu Wei helped Shanghai cut the margin to 5 points.

But Tianjin stopped Shanghai's run. It scored a series of three pointers to push the lead back to 14 points in the third quarter.

Shanghai wasn't done.  Luo Xudong scored a two pointer to bring both sides even at 69-all.

Then, Liu Wei took over.  He drove Shanghai to the finish over Tianjin.  Shanghai won the game 98-89.
