Huang Shaohua win men 100m freestyle

There were more dramatic stories on the men's side.

Huang Shaohua from Guangxi got ready for the 100 meter freestyle. Shi Runqiang from Guangdong team and PLA team's Hu Yue also established themselves as favorites for the title.

China's top swimmers are ready to fight for the "fastest man in water". /The nail-bitting race got underway, and the first 50 meters proved to be almost a three-way tie. Huang was the first one to make the turn, followed by Beijing's Chen Zuo. Then Huang accelerated into the final sprint and  won the gold with a time of 48.86 seconds. Chen Zuo of Beijing finished as the runner-up, and Shi Runqiang took the bronze.

And Huang said he was happy to win this time after he finished with two runner-ups in the previous national games.

The spectacular finish gave the veteran Huang Shaohua a gold medal in his final National Games.
