In cycling, it was a last go-around for Henan's Gao Yahui. Gao won the men's Keirin race in his final track appearance before retirement.

The competition in the men's Keirin race final was tough on Wednesday. Gao Yahui faced home favorite Zhang Lei. Zhang already held two golds from the men's short race earlier. But Gao was prepared to put up one last great performance in his cycling career. He crossed the line first to win the gold. It was also the first gold medal for the Henan cycling team.
