Cycling: Shandong win men's 4km team pursuit

Earlier in the day, the track cycling saw a new record set in the men's 4km team pursuit. Riders from Shandong stole the spotlight in the race, breaking the Asian record in both the preliminaries and the finals. After clocking four minutes 9.383 seconds in the first round Tuesday morning, the Shandong team was registered 4 minutes 7.507, beating Tianjin into second place in the final. Hebei finished third in the event.

Jiangsu's Tang Kerong wins women's point race

There was some confusion in the women's points race which had to be interrupted as the final moved into the halfway stage. Seven cyclists who had been overlapped in the race, refused to leave the track despite orders by the chief referee. After the race was resumed, Tang Kerong of Jiangsu sped up and unexpectedly took the title with 18 points.

Li Yan from Shandong and Wu Yunmei from Yunnan were second and third respectively.

Guo Shuang takes gold for Jilin

In other events of the day, Guo Shuang of Jilin won the women's individual pursuit.

Zhang Lei wins men's individual pursuit

 While Zhang Lei of Shandong took a gold in the men's individual pursuit for the hosts.
