Volleyball: Sichuan, Shandong and Henan into next round

6 teams were fighting for qualification in the men's event. First up, the Sichuan team faced Fujian. Sichuan in blue took the early lead in the first set, and won it 27-25.

Sichuan kept their good form to win the second set 25-22. Former coach of women's national volleyball team Chen Zhonghe also attended the match. Fujian fought back on the third set and won the set 25-21.

The match then became a one-sided affair in the fourth set. Sichuan looking for the win, and they sealed the victory by 25-23.

Other qualification matches saw Henan take on Shanghai. Henan in white took the early lead, edging the first and second sets 25-23 and 27-25.

Shanghai fought back in the third set. They won it 25-22. Henan took control on the fourth set, winning it 25-21 and with it the match.

Home favorite Shandong team won against Zhejiang 3-2 after an epic fifth set which ended 43-41. The toughest set in this National Games. Shandong didn't let the home crowd down.
