Extreme sports are becoming more and more popular among young people here in China. As we continue our "Fitness for all" series, we take a special look at two young Chinese athletes who are dedicating themselves to the sports they love. Their stories are different, but both are always ready to challenge their limits.

BMX rider Zhang Kai said, "BMX is one of the most extreme sports. It's not a sport that everyone can take up. We do BMX, intending to prove it to everyone, and ourselves: I can do the sport, not everyone can."

Zhang saved several hundred yuan to buy his first bike in 1998, which inspired him to take up BMX racing.

Now, he has a bike worth thousands. It is one of his most prized possessions.

Zhang Kai said, "This bike has cost me over 10,000 yuan. Most of the money I've made has been spent on it. It's as important as my life."

Everyday, Zhang maintains his bike with care.

Zhang Kai said, "I like listening to sound of the bearings most. "

"Generally, my bike is a combination of black and red colors, which I love most."

"Now I'm content with this bike."

With his beloved bike, Zhang is making a lot of progress learning new stunts. But it hasn't been an easy road for Zhang. He has had to overcome a serious health scare to get where he is.
