Stranded expert: Volcano is evolving

2010-04-21 13:28 BJT

Prominent Icelandic expert Freysteinn Sigmundsson says the volcano is now evolving.

The vulcanologist has been stranded in Copenhagen, in Denmark due to the cancellation of his flight because of the ash cloud.

Sigmundsson is a geophysicist at the Nordic Volcanological Centre in Iceland. He was in Paris when the volcano, which he has spent many years studying, first erupted.

He traveled by bus to the Danish capital from where he's hoping to go to Stockholm and fly from there back to Iceland.
