Thai PM holds emergency meeting

In Thailand, the death toll from clashes between anti government protestors and security forces has climbed to 21. More than 870 people have also been injured. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva held an emergency meeting on Sunday afternoon to discuss measures to restore order in the country.

Thai media reported that Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva held an emergency meeting with leaders of coalition parties, to discuss the current unrest. Reports quoted a government source that said, Abhisit asked for approval to dissolve the lower house of parliament, if the situation gets out of control.
