Special Report: A Miracle Finally Happened |

Twelve days have passed since the Wangjialing mine flooding incident, and the death toll has risen to 23. While rescuers continue their search for survivors, the 115 already saved are recovering quickly with good treatment.

After four days of medical treatment, most of the saved workers are making a good recovery.

The focus of treatment has turned from saving lives to improving their conditions.

Some patients are now able to get out of bed.

Rescued worker Wang Qiming said, "I really want to take a bath. The underground water was alkaline. I feel itchy from touching the water."

Ding Guangxuan, director of Hejin City Hospital, said, "They have not been allowed to take a bath. Our nurses wiped them down using warm water. Those in good condition can do some small-scale movement around their beds."
