In Thailand, where Prime Minister, Abhisit Vejjajiva, says his government has never rejected a proposed peace talk with the red-shirt protestors.

He said government representatives will meet with red shirt leaders, but their supporters insist on direct talks with the Prime Minister.

Blocked from his office, parliament and his home for security reasons, Abhisit spent another day at his heavily fortified military compound.

Abhisit acknowledged red-shirts' demands for a House dissolution, but stressed the importance of first having talks between the government and demonstrators.
