Special Report: 8.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Chile |
The death toll from Chile's earthquake has climbed to to almost eight-hundred. The government has struggled to provide aid swiftly because of crumpled highways and major power disruptions caused by the quake.
Much-needed aid arrived in the coastal town of Constitucion on Tuesday, four days after the 8.8-magnitude earthquake hit.
In the town alone, 350 people are believed to have been killed. Desperate survivors who received the aid said it was too little, too late.
Local Reisident, said, "We need help, we don't have anything here. We are wearing borrowed clothes, we have nothing."
