Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |

World Health Organization experts say the A/H1N1 pandemic influenza is not yet past its peak.

Special adviser on pandemic influenza, Keiji Fukuda, made the announcement Wednesday following a teleconference of the WHO's Emergency Committee.

The 15 experts held two hours of in-depth discussions and concluded it's too early to say the pandemic is past its peak.

Based on the evidence presented in the discussions and the views of the experts, WHO Director-General Margaret Chan decided there will be no change in the current pandemic status right now.

She plans to reconvene the Emergency Committee in the next several weeks to review the situation again.
