The number of students who own mobiles in China is increasing That gives them easy access to online porn. Experts say that a comprehensive network should be established to protect them from being exposed to the images.

Mobile porn has been widespread across China in recent years. And crimes concerning mobile porn have also been increasing. With the popularity of mobile phones, students are in danger of falling victims to its influence.

"Almost everyone in our school has a mobile phone. We use them a lot, making calls, sending messages and surfing on line." One student said.

Compared with computers, mobiles are less obvious when connected to the Internet. And there are few regulations for mobile Internet use. So youngsters can easily download content like porn and violence through their mobiles. Experts say a protective network should be established.

Professor Liu Jianqing, China Univ. of Political Science & Law, said, "We should set up a vertical network including judicial protection, family protection, social protection and school protection. More importantly, students should know how to identify bad content on mobiles and voluntarily refuse to watch and read it."

In 2009, more than 15,000 pornographic websites in China, including 11,000 mobile wap sites, were shut down or blocked. But both police and experts say that much more still needs to be done.
