Special Report: Strong Quake Hits Haiti |

The Interior Ministry says the number of people killed in the devastating quake has now risen to more than 110 thousand.

Nearly 200 thousand people have been injured, and more than 600 thousand are homeless. The International Red Cross is warning of disease reports in the quake zones, including diarrhea, tetanus and reciprocal diseases. Officials say timely disinfection and vaccination can effectively prevent the diseases from spreading. The Chinese government is to send a military medical team to Haiti at the UN's request. The 40-member team is ready for its mission and will leave soon for the Caribbean nation.
