For more on the earthquake in Haiti, we're joined by Mr Gu Guohua, research professor at the Institute of Earthquake Science.

Q1: Hello Professor Gu. We know Haiti has been struck by its most powerful earthquake in almost 200 years. Can you tell us the cause of this devastating quake, and whether the country can expect strong aftershocks?

Q2: It's been over 24 hours since the tremor, is this the best time for rescue operations?
