2010-01-08 14:14 BJT

A bomb has exploded outside a governor's compound in eastern Afghanistan, wounding him and five others.

The blast occurred in Khost province, while a group of 32 government officials had been at a meeting. Governor Tahr Khan Sabari was cut by glass from windows shattered in the blast, but not seriously injured.

Five others, including two journalists meeting with the governor, were also slightly wounded. Bordered by Pakistan, Khost province is one of the country's most troubled.

Seven CIA employees were killed on the 30th of December, when a suicide bomber attacked an agency base there.
