US special envoy begins DPRK trip

2009-12-08 13:57 BJT

Stephen Bosworth, US President Barack Obama's first envoy to the DPRK, flies to Pyongyang on Tuesday in a bid to coax the country back to the nuclear disarmament talks it walked away a year ago.

However, no new incentives will be on offer as he meets with DPRK officials. During his three-day trip, Bosworth is expected to sit down with Kang Sok Ju, the first vice foreign minister.
