New China cartoon company founded

Let's move from the classroom to the family rooms of most homes where animated shows are very popular in China. However, most are produced in other countries.

What is expected to become a major force in the country's cartoon industry has been born. China Cartoon Company was unveiled on Thursday and was created to help end the domination of foreign animation in the Chinese market.

China Cartoon Company was jointly established by the market development center of the Ministry of Culture, and China Performance Management Center.

Its goal is to attract investment, develop technology and products, and promote excellent cartoon productions from China.

Liang Gang, CEO China Cartoon Company, said, China's cartoon industry is mainly composed of middle or small scale companies. Many lack talent, funds and equipment. China Cartoon Company as a national class group, has advantages in these areas. We'll build platforms to serve those companies.

China's rich culture offers plenty of inspiration for animators and it boasts the biggest market in this field. Chinese cartoons have a long history dating back to the 1920s. But a platform combining all the animation resources in the country has been lacking. China Cartoon Company hopes to fill that gap.

A large scale Cartoon Creative Industry Zone is now being built in Beijing's Shijingshan district. It's the first move by the China Cartoon Company to fulfill its role.
