Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |
It is autumn in the northern hemisphere, which means a second round of the A/H1N1 virus could hit.
It's expected that more people will contract the flu, and the death toll is also expected to rise.
The WHO's weekly figures show, as of last Sunday, 4,999 have died from the virus. The majority of those killed have been from North and South America.
The WHO believes the actual death toll could be even higher, since many countries are no longer monitoring and reporting new cases.
