Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |
China is now experiencing what experts call "a second round of A/H1-N1 flu infection," with the number of cases rising rapidly and becoming more widespread.
According to China's Ministry of Health, in the 48 hours leading up to 3 pm Friday, the mainland had more than 2,000 cases of the virus. More than 33 thousand cases have been reported.
More than 26,000 of these are now symptom free. Of the 44 patients in serious condition, 14 no longer show symptoms. The virus has been blamed for causing two deaths so far on the mainland, one in Tibet, and another in the northwestern province of Qinghai.
