Iran: US wrong about it's nuclear program and missiles

Iran's supreme leader says US officials were wrong about his country's nuclear program and the threat posed by Iranian missiles.

Meanwhile, Russia says it has received assurance that Israel is not planning a military attack on Iran.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on the government-run English-language, Press TV, that allegations of the production of nuclear weapons by Iran were untrue and unjust.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei , Iran's Supreme Leader, said, "We fundamentally oppose nuclear weapons, their use and production. They are aware of this. American officials who speak of the danger of Iranian missiles and say that Iran intends to build an atomic bomb, know that their words are wrong. However, the policy of Iranophobia is an evident policy in the behavior of these arrogant states."

The remarks were the first official reaction by the Iran government, since US President Barack Obama scrapped a European missile defense plan last Thursday.

Meanwhile, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev spoke about the possibility of a preemptive Israeli strike.
