The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Jiang Yu, says the US decision to impose special protectionist tariffs on tires imported from China, goes against commitments it made at the G-20 summit.

Jiang says the move is a serious form of trade protectionism and it will undermine economic and trade ties between China and the US. Jiang Yu adds that China has lodged solemn representation to the US and reserves the right for further actions.
