The top Chinese legislator said forging a closer Sino-US relationship is one of the main purposes of his tour. To this end, the visit has achieved its goal.
Wu Bangguo made three key points during his visit.
First, he expressed pleasure China-US ties had enjoyed a smooth transition since President Barack Obama took office earlier this year.
Next, he described the China-US relationship as one of the most important ones in the world, with great potential to develop.
Finally, he pointed out that the relationship between the two countries had ushered in a new era, and now faces important developing opportunities.
Wu Bangguo also expressed confidence of a bright future of the two countries' economic cooperation and trade.
The top legislator attended the China-US Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in Phoenix.
Both countries signed 41 agreements on investment, economic and technological cooperation. They are worth more than 12 billion US dollars, involving new energy and materials, communications, electronics, machinery and tourism.
He visited Honeywell International, a company that specializes in aerospace and automation technology. He also visited First Solar, one of the world's fastest-growing manufacturers of solar modules.
Wu Bangguo pinpointed cooperation between China and the US in high-technology and clean energy as other highlights during his visit.
