The test runs for China's provincial, regional and municipal pavilions at the Shanghai Expo have officially begun. On Wednesday morning, the Shaanxi Pavilion became the first of 31 sites to test general operations, facilities, and the preparation of performances and tour guide services. So, let's have a look at what Shaanxi has to offer.

The pavilion takes the form of the Huaqing Palace from the Tang Dynasty. Dominated with a palette of gold and red, the general ambience is grand and magnificent. Actors dressed up as the Tang Dynasty Emperor and his consort Lady Yang interact with their robotic versions to transport visitors back in time.

China's famous terra cotta warriors are getting digitized as well. Also, the pavilion has put on display a collection of tricolor glazed ware, a terra cotta archer, and a bronze tripod from the Western Zhou Dynasty.

The one-and-a-half hour rehearsal has produced satisfying results.

Jing Junhai, deputy governer of Shaanxi Province, said, "The design of the architecture, and arrangement of programs have emphasized the intangible cultural heritage in Shaanxi, which is the cradle of Chinese civilization."

Interior decoration of the 31 provincial, regional and municipal pavilions is almost complete. The venues are all geared up for the grand test run starting on Tuesday.
