"Miss Julie" is one of the most influential works of Swedish playwright and writer August Strindberg, who shares fame with another "father of modern drama" Henrik Ibsen.

In the play, Strindberg used themes spawned by Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection or "survival of the fittest" and love breaking through the boundaries of class distinction.
