Veteran actors mounts Gogol classic in Beijing

In Beijing, some veteran stage players of China have announced some thrilling news to local theatergoers. Starting April the 14th, they will present five performances of Nikolai Gogol's classic play "The Inspector General".

In Beijing, some veteran stage players of China have announced some thrilling news to local theatergoers. Starting April the 14th, they will present five performances of Nikolai Gogol's classic play "The Inspector General".

Leading the cast will be Jiao Huang, Zhang Xianheng, and Gu Yongfei. These renowned performers are all in their seventies. They worked on "The Inspector General" about fifty years ago.

It was last November that they revived the classic Russian satire in Shanghai to mark the 200th birthday of Nikolai Gogol.

And now, they are bringing the classic piece to the Beijing audience.
