"Clash of the Titans" premieres in UK

Following hot on the heels of "Avatar," Sam Worthington stars in another 3D epic, "Clash of the Titans," in what is sure to be the first of many summer blockbusters.

The film held its world premiere at the Leicester Square in London on Monday night. Sam Worthington, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, and Alexa Davalos all joined the film's director, Louis Leterrier, on the red carpet to celebrate the launch of the film that tells the mythological tale of a struggle for power that pits men against kings, and kings against gods.

The film itself was not originally slated as a 3-D project, but Warner Brothers felt there was an opportunity to ride on the back of the success created by James Cameron's "Avatar". So the movie's transfer from 2-D to 3-D delayed the its original release date.

'Clash of the Titans' will be released across the UK and the US on April 2nd.
