Top-line models and Bollywood actors have converged in Mumbai for the Lakme India Fashion Week. Models strutted the catwalk showcasing a collection styled in 100 percent organic cotton and silk fabrics.
The collection, titled Bhusattva, consists of eco-friendly fabrics like cotton and silk. Colors included white, grey, purple, green and red.
Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee stole the spotlight with his bohemian collection at the Fashion Week.
Mukherjee is better known more for his contemporary fashion designs. But this time he ventured into new territory, by displaying his transparent collection.
Drawing inspiration from the 70s rock star look, his collection comprised long skirts, floor-touching dresses, elongated t-shirts and loose pants.
Some models embraced a hippy look for the show, wearing bandanas, red sunglasses, chunky jewellery, platform sandals and a bindi on their foreheads.
The bi-annual Lakme India Fashion Week runs from March the 5th to the 9th and involves media seminars, business networking and a buyers' forum in addition to regular fashion shows.
Around 64 designers showcase their collections in this season of the fashion week.
