Sherlock Holmes is a 2009 action mystery film based on the character of the same name created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Prior to its Chinese release, the film's already taken 20 million dollars at the US box office.

It tells the story of the famous detective and his assistant Dr. Watson in their hunt for serial killer and occult sorcerer Lord Blackwood. Contending with his partner's new fiancee and the dimwitted head of Scotland Yard, the detective must unravel the clues that will lead him into a twisted web of murder, deceit, and black magic - and the deadly embrace of temptress Irene Adler.

Nearly 1,000 copies are being released to Chinese cinemas.
