Lantern Festival Gala ready to go

China Central Television's Lantern Festival Gala is set to be held on Sunday night. The show presented performances that could not be included in the Spring Festival Gala because of a time limitation. Performers who rehearsed for months have got the chance to be in this show.

On Friday, the last dress rehearsal opened with the song and dance "Roaring Festivities of Lantern Festival". On the stage of CCTV's Number One Studio, a galaxy of entertainers showed off their best.

This year, the Lantern Festival Gala puts its emphasis on the atmosphere of the festivities, prosperity, and rejoicing. The program features a total of sixteen acts. Among them are spectacular songs and dances, breathtaking acrobatics, and sidesplitting comedies.

Performers of some of the favorite acts from the Spring Festival Gala will also show up. Star magician Liu Qian will again conjure up some unbelievable illusions. And as an act of showmanship, he will perform under the scrutinizing eyes in the middle of the audience.

The veteran pop trio Little Tigers, reunited for the Spring Festival celebration, will perform a pop classic from their salad days in the 1990s.

And the comedians Xiao Shen Yang and Liu Neng, who have generated considerable mirth at the Spring Festival show, will sing a song. Also available is a newly composed act from the emerging comedic duo Bai Kainan and Jia Ling.
