Bronze horse greets public in Hubei

People in the city of Xiangfan, located in Central China's Hubei Province, are feasting their eyes on a relic from more than two thousand years ago.

The object on display, a long buried bronze horse, is believed to harken back to the days of the Han Dynasty. The ancient artifact was unearthed about a year ago at a local construction site.

Placed inside the tomb chamber of an aristocrat, the metal-cast sculpture measures about 160 centimeters in height, and tips the scales at nearly two tons.

Now housed at the Xiangfan Museum, the newly buffed equestrian likeness is meeting the general public for the first time, following several months of restoration.
