The National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing not only offers a world class stage for performers from home and abroad, but also produces its own pieces now.
The original opera "A Female Teacher in the Village" is its latest offering. We got a sneak peek at the production's news conference last week.
The cast of "A Female Teacher in the Village" met the media for the first time in Beijing. The leading singers include world famous soprano Dilibaier and well-known tenor Ding Yi. They performed the most heartbreaking scene at the news conference.
Behind the production is the strong team from the NCPA's version of Turandot, director Chen Xinyi, composer Hao Weiya, stage designer Gao Guangjian and conductor Lü Jia. The man behind the 2007 new year film "Assembly" Liu Heng was recruited to write the script.
The opera will debut at the Egg on December 22nd.
