As a highlight of the Xinjiang International Ethnic Dance Festival, the dance show "Dunhuang, My Dreamland" drew a huge crowd. Told in four acts, the story is set in the years when the Dunhuang Grottos were built. It's essentially a story about the love between an artist and a warlord's daughter.
An audience member said, "I was impressed by the show. The dances are so beautiful. And the dresses and stage designs are also wonderful. What's more, the show has captured the spirit of the art at the Dunhuang Grottos."
"Dunhuang, My Dreamland" was conceived about a decade ago. Since its sensational Beijing premiere in April of 2000, it has enjoyed a run of more than 400 performances. It has won honors from China's Ministry of Culture. "Dunhaung My Dreamland," has travelled to other countries like Australia, the United States, and Britain. Audiences at home and abroad praise the show for its mesmerizing blend of ethnic dancing and religious arts.
