Qinghai prioritizes relief transport

Huge amounts of aid, along with rescue teams and equipment are flowing into quake-hit Qinghai province from across the country. Transportation departments in Qinhai and elsewhere are co-ordinating efforts to guarantee their smooth arrival.

As of Thursday afternoon, 6 cargo planes have landed in Xining airport, arriving from big cities such as Beijing and Guangzhou. Two thousand rescuers have also flown in on 40 flights. China's Ministry of Railways has deployed 18 trains nationwide to deliver relief materials into Qinghai. Meanwhile, local authorities have allocated nearly three hundred buses for emergency use.
