Survivors treated in nearby regions

With most of the medical institutions in the quake zone destroyed, Qinghai provincial authorities have ordered injured victims transferred to nearby cities and provinces, to ensure the best possible treatment.

About 450 seriously injured patients were sent to Xining, capital of Qinghai Province, and Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province on Thursday. Over 20 patients have reached Chengdu by air. The largest hospital in Chengdu is ready to receive the patients. The hospital has prepared sufficient medical materials, and more than 200 beds for the patients from the quake zone. 50 ICU wards are on standby for those in severe conditions.
