Special Report: Strong Quake Hits Haiti |

The Chinese medical team in Haiti has relocated its operation site from a downtown plaza to a shelter in the capital city of Port-Au-Prince. Doctors say the aim of the move is to provide more direct and convenient services to the earthquake victims.

The Mais Gate shelter is located near the Port-Au-Prince international airport. The tents provided by international donors are the temporary homes for as many as 5-thousand quake victims. The Chinese medical team are utilizing three tents as their clinic, where they treated more than 500 patients on Monday alone.

Ji Chunlei, Deputy Head of Chinese Medical Team in Haiti, said, "We expected there would be huge demand for medical help. We estimate we deal with 500 to 600 patients per day. And the work will last for several days."
