Special Report: Shanghai World Expo 2010 |
Exterior construction of all the Expo's permanent venues has finished - including the China Pavilion and Expo Boulevard. Now that interior work is getting under way, Zhou Jie takes a look at some of the technology inside these fancy structures.
At the top of the China Pavilion, four solar panels will collect sunlight, and turn the solar energy into electricity inside. The building's windows will reflect sunlight, which will keep the temperature down. This technology will cut the electricity from the grid at the China Pavilion by more than half. The roof will also collect rain water, but that's for something else.

The project of indoor decoration and display arrangement in the World Expo's China Pavilion has started, as the 100-days countdown to the opening of Shanghai World Expo is to be greeted on Jan. 21.
